Abellio London have now taken possession of a new bus depot facility built on a brownfield site at Dawley Road, Hayes.

The depot accommodates 56 no. diesel bus fleet with fuel and wash functions together with a separate traffic office incorporating driver welfare facilities. The facility provides future proofing spatially for the introduction of electric buses and associated charging infrastructure such as underground ductwork and charger locations.

Since completion of the project the integration of some Electric buses has been achieved with Abellio operating electric services from the site.

The site was formerly a vacant brownfield site which required full planning permission and consideration to mitigate noise, protect flora and fauna, site boundary conditions and the replacement of a Georgian brick wall with agreement of the Hillingdon Council Heritage Officer. The welfare building also incorporates a biodiverse roof.
