The replacement depot contract for the new Warrington’s Own Buses facility has been let to the building contractor Carefoot Construction Ltd. Site possession will occur in December 2021 with an expected completion in November 2022.

Janus have been involved in the design and evolution of the project from the initial feasibility design and are now retained by Warrington Borough Council as Architectural Consultant and Principal Designers throughout the build process.

Once complete, the project will have the capacity to park, service and maintain up to 140 buses and be a replacement for the existing depot in Warrington town centre. The facility will eventually be capable of accommodating a full fleet of electric buses and detailed design work is underway to accommodate the infrastructure for this eventuality.
